Mr. Capaldo brings to the VR team diversified experience in business development strategies (Product, Sales, and Distribution) for consumer products and banking services in North and Latin America. His expertise is in developing and implementing strategic as well as tactical plans to maximize productivity and profitability of cross-cultural, proprietary, third party sales forces and distribution networks. Versed in both English and Spanish, Mario’s proven ability to manage and motivate people in order to achieve and exceed established goals helps drive the success of all his engagements. As part of his professional career, Mr. Capaldo has developed and executed marketing and sales plans for a $250M liquor distribution business for Distribuidora Benedetti. Soon afterward, he procured $400M in annual gross margin for a chain of 147 supermarkets, while managing a multi-national purchasing department of 22 employees for CADA Supermarkets. In the 1990s, Mario developed and managed a $4M business unit and distribution network for the parent company of Tampax. From there Mario moved on to the Mentholatum Company where managed the distribution network throughout Latin America and contributed to an 150% increase in sales over a two year period. Before joining VR, Mario also worked for Consumer Business Division of Citibank Latin America where he was responsible for an annual revenue budget of $105M. Of special note is Mario’s experience in building the merchant network and sales strategies for a startup company based in California called MisOpciones, Inc. where he built a merchant network of over 1300 and implemented a direct sales network. Mario received a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration and Marketing from the University of Northern Colorado.
